Dog’s-blood temp’rature drops,
charges uphill and down, panting out
mouthfuls of breath and choppers.
Griever, wrangler, canyon-digger
who scratches out bounty of the fields,
and also the ditches,
who digs earthen heat
from foggy trenches.
