56. "Everybody's pining now..."

Everybody’s pining now—they’re thinking that they’ll reach, that reach surpasses the length of an arm, that there’s capacity in those hands for what they’ll catch...that action rests on they themselves, that they could finally take orders from an unveiled heart. But they forget--they don’t weigh enough to pull down the veil from the curtainrod.
