139. " 'Run!' the little rabbit screamed..."

“Run!” the little rabbit screamed, “Alersey! Alersey!” So we each ran in circles screaming through the air ‘til there were only wiry circles in the air with leaves threaded through. Our wide vales and our narrow vales were set to the torch; flowers translated noiselessly into the flames. We found our tunnels and runged down, and kneed it to our boats on the waterway, only to find—zigzagging birds over petticlosses and rock oils sticking fingers in, smoothing the pained streams and faltering, coughing rabbits and stuck skimmers. A paling yellow fell ‘cross the roaring clouds from the fire’s fling-ups; we all went eyeless as crooked smokes wove upward through the air.
