151. "Stripped me..."

Stripped me;
until I was the fly and the apple,
and the apple browning;
or else until I was stripped
to my arteries, arranged
to a man-shaped bloom dry
on the examination table.
Or else I was stripped to so many shocks
unwilled and unsought from a hissing cord;
or else I was maybe
a bright solitary,
eagerly wishing to bore.
