213. "Why sleep?"

Why sleep?
To ward off granular swatches of pulverized daytime, little bulbs ever bursting before your eyes...

What sleep?
Clattering staves and loglets admixed with onrushes of purest water...

Who sleep?
Bodies gone to serve as plumped vessels, still, tossed, or trembling, swathed in pendant meters of cloth...

How sleep?
A simple ducking in the depth of another realm’s fluid, having been set on and soundly beaten by fatigue...

When sleep?
When a backdrop nicked with fixed stars, and prominent-cut with a moon, is wheeled with a creak behind you.
